90% of its territory is nature. In addition, 10% of this land has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In summer, it becomes a true explosion of nature, offering opportunities for hiking, climbing and cycle tourism.
Andorra has much more to offer: it boasts a rich cultural scene, including around forty Romanesque churches and twenty-one museums spread across the country. The Principality has everything you need for a dream getaway, combining active tourism with spectacular shows like those from Cirque du Soleil, as well as culture, wellness, gastronomy and shopping. Andorra is the perfect destination to unwind and focus on yourself.

The official language of Andorra is Catalan, although it is important to note that the population comes from many parts of the world. For this reason, Spanish, French and Portuguese are also widely spoken throughout the country.
Andorra enjoys a high mountain climate with Mediterranean influences, with hot summers and cold winters accompanied by heavy snowfall. The average minimum temperature is -2 ºC, and the maximum is 24 ºC. Snowfall is frequent, and rainfall is concentrated mainly between May and October.
Andorra is a parliamentary co-principality. The constitution establishes the figure of the co-princes as the joint and indivisible head of state. They are, in their personal capacity, the Bishop of Urgell and the President of the French Republic. Currently, the Episcopal Co-Prince is H.E. Mons. Joan Enric Vives Sicília, and the French Co-Prince is H.E. Mr. Emmanuel Macron. The Head of Government is H.E. Mr. Xavier Espot Zamora, who has held office since 15 May 2019.
The country is divided into 7 parishes, which are the local administrative divisions of Andorra: Canillo, Encamp, Ordino, La Massana, Andorra la Vella, Sant Julià de Lòria, and Escaldes-Engordany. These parishes are governed by their respective “comuns” (local councils).
If you are a citizen of the European Union, you do not need a visa to enter Andorra. The country has transit agreements with Spain and France, so travellers from any European state do not need any special permit. A passport or national ID card is sufficient for entering or leaving Andorra. On the other hand, if you are a citizen of a non-EU country but within the Schengen Area, you must have a valid passport. If you are from a country outside the Schengen Area, you will need a valid passport and a multiple-entry and exit Schengen visa to cross the Spanish or French border, as those are the mandatory entry points into Andorra.
